Manager Health and Safety
(This position will be located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia)

Under limited supervision, plan organize, manage and control the industrial hygiene and safety programs and systems. Work effectively with site safety resources and staff to enable safe execution of business plan.

• Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures for assigned area.
• Direct Supervisors and other safety staff in daily operations. Inspect daily operations and projects in progress and upon completion to ensure quality of work. Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret policies and procedures established by regulatory agencies.
• Develop and implement processes necessary to continuously improve the HSMS and ensure compliance and conformance with all legal, business and client requirements.
• Lead complex and high severity incident investigations and root cause analyses. Provide guidance to management team during a crisis. Work with external parties in emergency response efforts. Oversee and maintain records of accidents as required by law.
• Analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and regulatory documents to identify potential impacts to the site.
• Oversee and recommend the selection of key staff. Participate in the selection of staff.
• Forecast necessary funds for staffing, materials and supplies, and capital improvement projects. Submit budget recommendations and justifications; monitor and control expenditures.
• Respond to employee Health and Safety inquiries and regulatory complaints.
• Provide information and resources to site officials and other departments. Answer questions and presents at relevant internal and external conferences.
• Coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Leading or supervising personnel and/or projects, AND
• Bachelors degree and seven (10) years of experience in Health & Safety or related, OR
• Masters degree and five (7) year of experience in Health & Safety or related.
• English speaking skills at an advanced level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Metal smelting and processing exposure.
• Electro refinery or acid plant experience.
