Site Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Regularly visit hatchery sites to monitor and oversee seedling hatchery farming activities, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and sustainable farming practices
2. Act as the primary point of contact for local seaweed farmers
3. Collect and analyze data on cultivation progress, seedling growth, and environmental conditions
4. Prepare regular reports on site performance and farmer activities
5. Support farmer training programs
6. Manage sea-based nursery and collaborate with local communities (farmers and women)
7. Willing to stay in a designated location
8. Capable of demonstrating to become pioneer or champion farmer

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in agriculture, marine biology, environmental science, or a related field
• 2+ years of field experience, preferably in aquaculture, agriculture, or community development projects
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate local communities
• Problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to managing challenges in the field
• Ability to work independently, travel frequently, and adapt to rural field environments
• Familiarity with seaweed farming and coastal ecosystems is a plus
• Proficiency in local languages of South Sulawesi is an advantage
• Indonesian Only
• Loves challenges and is passionate about coastal and marine subjects

BENEFIT

• The successful candidate will be on á-24-month contract and a competitive salary subject to a performance review after the first 3 months

LOCATION

• Work in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Travel throughout Indonesia will be required.
