Indesso is known as a manufacturer of multifarious ingredients today, but in its early beginnings, Indesso only distilled and exported Clove Leaf oil. Founded in Baturraden, Purwokerto, Central Java in 1968 by Robertus Hartanto Gunawan, the name is an abbreviation of "Indonesian Essential Oils".
