Aquarev is a venture-backed social enterprise created to renovate, revitalize, and revolve credit for up to 75,000 poorly performing smallholder shrimp farms in Indonesia. Via a proprietary agtech + fintech platform, farmers receive financial support for best-practice renovation and climate-smart intensification of their shrimp ponds, and are provided hands-on support and guidance at the farm level to optimize the day-to-day cultivation process. By following international standards and best practices for shrimp, farmers can improve their profitability while ensuring their farms are sustainably managed, reducing negative impacts on water, soil, coastal ecosystems, and reducing pressure on mangrove deforestation.

Aquarev started its Pilot Program in 2018 with seven farmers in Lampung, Indonesia. Since then, we have expanded our operations in other regions in Indonesia. The Aquarev Aproach meets all international sustainability standards (including key standards by Aquaculture Stewardship Council and Best Aquaculture Practices). Critically, the Program also reduces pressure to deforest critical mangrove habitats by allowing farmers to sell the first shrimp from Indonesia that is fully traced as mangrove forest conversion-free.
