Weichai Power Co., Ltd. was founded in 2002 by the main sponsor, Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd. and qualified domestic and foreign investors. It is the first combustion engine company listed in Hong Kong stock exchange, as well as the first company returning to China mainland stock market. In 2017, Weichai’s sale revenue reaches 151.57 billion RMB, and profit reaches 10.52 billion RMB.
Weichai has always adhered to the operation strategy of product-driven and capital-driven, and is committed to developing products with three core competitiveness: quality, technology and cost. It has successfully built the synergetic development pattern among powertrain, vehicle and machinery, intelligent logistics and other segments. The Company owns famous brands, such as “Weichai Power Engine”, “Fast Gear”, “Hande Axle”, “Shacman Heavy Truck”, and “Linder Hydraulics”.
Weichai owns the only state key laboratory focusing on reliability research (State Key Laboratory of Engine Reliability), several state-level enterprise R&D platforms, National Engineering Technology Research Center for Commercial Vehicle’s Powertrain, the only engine lab in China that has been certified by EPA, National Professional Makers’ Space, “Post-doctoral Workstation”, cutting-edge technology innovation centers in US, Germany, and Japan, R&D centers in Weifang, Shanghai, Xi’an, Chongqing, Yangzhou, etc. in China, and the global collaborative R&D platform to make sure that the technology stays at global leading level.
Weichai has established a service network composed by more than 5,000 authorized maintenance service centers throughout China, and more than 500 overseas maintenance service centers. Weichai products are exported to more than 110 countries and regions.
Weichai won National Quality Award in 2007. In 2011, it was awarded the honor of “National Demonstration Base of Enterprise Culture”. “WP10/WP12 heavy-duty high-speed engine and related key technology” was given the special awards of science and technology progress of China machinery industry. In 2013，“Heavy-duty high-Speed diesel engine key technology and industrialization” was awarded the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2017, the Company was awarded the “China Trademark Gold Award – Trademark Innovation Award”.Weichai was awarded “China Quality Award” in 2018. Chairman Tan Xuguang was consecutively selected as the representative of the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th session of the National People’s Congress, and awarded “National May 1st labor medal”, “National Model Worker”, ”National Excellent Entrepreneur”, “The 4th Yuan Baohua Enterprise Management Gold Medal”, “China Equipment Industry Entrepreneur”, “2011 top 10 innovator in China”, and many other titles. He is currently the director committee president of China Federation of Industrial Economics, deputy president of China Enterprise Confederation/China Enterprise Directors Association, the deputy president of China Machinery Industry Federation, and the deputy president of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
