Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

1. Develop project scope and provide alternatives and recommendations to the project engineer, project manager, and project sponsor as per agreement with the project sponsor.
2. Coordinate preparation of Mechanical engineering construction drawings to ensure a comprehensive package is issued that is fully understood and constructible
3. Develop Mechanical technical specifications for equipment purchase.
4. Develop cost estimates by following the project scope of work and technical specifications.
5. Create material requisition for all equipment & material required in the project assigned, review technical and bid evaluation, and propose to project engineer and project manager for the best tender offer.
6. Prepare and collate Mechanical Engineering Work Package (EWP) documentation and commissioning procedure, to ensure all aspects of construction, safety, and quality are clearly defined.
7. Perform periodic inspections to ensure the work is technically being performed by following EWP requirements.
8. Resolve technical issues during project execution and complete commissioning after the project is completed, to ensure the project meets the planned objectives
9. Responsible for the quality, technical competence, and professionalism of the engineering effort.
10. Carry out integrated engineering design using best current practices and be able to accept responsibility for a safe and reliable result
11. Maintain document records and close out EWR on project completion, to ensure the comprehensive record is available for subsequent reference
12. Identify, develop, justify and implement cost-saving initiatives for Engineering work & equipment in his area of responsibility.

Key requirements:

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years experience as Mechanical Engineer
• Having experience in handling fixed plants such as: crushers, boilers, grinders, etc.
• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written
