Ocean Plastic Prevention Accelerator (OPPA) Building a social innovation ecosystem to reduce ocean plastic pollution in Indonesia

The Ocean Plastic Prevention Accelerator (OPPA) program is supported by The Incubation Network,

a regional initiative tackling ocean plastic pollution, powered by SecondMuse, The Circulate Initiative with support from the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, and Global Affairs Canada.

Indonesia is the second largest country in the world that produces ocean plastic pollution due to ineffective waste management and recycling systems.

The Ocean Plastic Prevention Accelerator is a social innovation ecosystem builder program that fosters

a collaborative network for innovative solutions to build a more inclusive and circular waste economy in addressing the ocean plastic leakage in Indonesia. OPPA works together with businesses, innovators, start-ups, multilateral organizations, and governments, to identify problems and gaps within the local waste ecosystems, and develops solutions to address them. OPPA’s activities have successfully closed gaps through acceleration programs, networking, facilitating collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and supporting government programs.

Ocean Plastic Prevention Accelerator (OPPA) adalah program yang diinisiasi oleh SecondMuse dengan tujuan membangun ekosistem inovasi sosial demi mengatasi polusi sampah plastik di laut Indonesia. Surabaya merupakan lokasi pertama untuk pilot project OPPA.
